Power protection manufacturer Tripp Lite has announced that its PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent (PANSA) and PowerAlert Local (PAL) programs are now fully compatible with VMware. PAL enables end-users to manage UPS systems connected to a computer through USB or serial cables for a basic unattended shutdown. Tripp Lite's PowerAlert Software allows users to monitor and control connected UPS systems. PowerAlert works with multiple computing platforms, including Microsoft Windows and Linux. The minimum system requirements for each PowerAlert component are: Windows 7, 8, 10 (32 & 64 bit), Server 2008, 2012, 2016 (32 & 64 bit).

Tripp Lite Announces Poweralert 2019

Tripp Lite announces the release of an upgraded PowerAlert UPS Management Software (Version 11.0X) that is compatible with Microsoft operating systems (i.e., Windows 2000 and XP) featuring hibernate functionality. This new PowerAlert feature works with the Microsoft operating system to automatically save all open programs and files exactly as they appear on-screen in the event of an automatic or manual system shutdown. Upon reboot, all opened programs and files reappear on the user's desktop exactly as they were prior to shutdown. This new feature eliminates the need to reopen previously used programs and files upon reboot, saving valuable time.

'Tripp Lite continues to provide IS managers with UPS management software that is compatible with the most current Microsoft OS features,' says Mike Delgrosso, Tripp Lite's Director of Software Development. 'The new hibernate compatible PowerAlert Software allows IS managers to utilize this convenient OS feature without compromising their PowerAlert monitoring and control functions.

Tripp Lite's PowerAlert Software has been recognized for its ability to monitor and control any UPS, regardless of manufacturer. PowerAlert prevents equipment damage and data loss by saving open files operating under any Microsoft operating system and automatically shutting down equipment-including all connected workstations-in the event of a power outage.

Tripp Lite's PowerAlert Software also offers Web-based management for Windows. Users can view and respond to alerts such as system overloads, blackouts, repeated power fluctuations and more. By simply accessing a secure Web site, users can perform Web-based management from any Web-enabled device. PowerAlert is the only UPS software to receive Palm certification for wireless applications from any Web-enabled device including wireless phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). This allows IS personnel the ability to check UPS status, reboot outlets, or reset critical settings from any Web-enabled device. IS managers are no longer obliged to log into the network from a resident workstation to check on network power conditions or make adjustments to customized settings.

Tripp Lite now offers a separate 'Watchdog' software application that is compatible with these select Tripp Lite UPS systems. Tripp Lite's Watchdog System provides 100% availability for a variety of security, e-commerce, and communications applications by monitoring and restarting critical services and the operating system.
